The Bride

Angela is forever a Bay Area gal. She was born and raised in San Francisco, where she currently lives and works. In due time, she shall be a professional food taster and Youtuber. Angela studied Politics and Legal Studies at UCSC, but ultimately decided to pursue her interests in education, tech, and food. It is no surprise that she now works at DoorDash, where she focuses on improving merchant operations. Outside of work, Angela enjoys cooking, trips to Costco, and riding her electric scooter around the city.

The groom

Alvin is also a San Francisco native. He is also born here, raised here, lives here & works here. In due time, he shall be the mayor of the city. Alvin got his B.S. in Computer Science from UC Davis. Growing up, Alvin played countless hours of video games and loved to nerd out about computers & action movies. Nowadays, Alvin works full time as a Software Engineer at Brex. He has a passion for photography, drone flying, Boosted board riding & trying all the boba shops in town. He is also training for his first full marathon this year.

Our love story

How we met

Sept 11, 2009

We met in September 2009 during a group dinner with mutual friends at Kevin’s Noodle House. Y’all SF folks know that place is still poppin’ in 2021! Alvin was invited by one of his friends and that is how we first met. After that night, Alvin and Angela continued chatting on AIM and he added her on Facebook, making their friendship Facebook official.

First Date

Oct 3, 2009

Our first date was a trip to Great America. Alvin won Angela a blue stuffed dog, which became the first of many stuffed animals that Angela has since received. We had a great time that day and since then have traveled to many theme parks all across the country, Disneyland/World being our favorite!

Relationship

Nov 7th, 2009

On November 7th, 2009, Alvin asked Angela to be his girlfriend. Angela went off to UC Santa Cruz while Alvin headed to UC Davis for college. This began our 4-year long-distance relationship. During that period, we relied on text messaging, Skype video calls, and handwritten snail mail letters (yes, actually). We eventually moved back to SF and got our first jobs, traveled, and moved in together. 9 years flew by in a blink of an eye and we were able to experience so many milestones together.

Proposal

Jan 26, 2019

After 9 years of dating, Alvin decided it was finally time to pop the big question. With some careful and elaborate planning, Alvin recruited 30 (amazing) friends to help pull the ultimate surprise birthday party (Angela hates surprises...). And much to Alvin's relief, Angela said "Yes!".

First Home

May 10, 2019

A few months after the proposal, we decided it was time for us to find a new place to call home. We searched around the city and ultimately found the perfect home that is conveniently located near both of our parents!

How do I RSVP?

Please click the RSVP FORM button above to enter your name and find your party’s details. RSVP by 9/15/2021.

Can I bring a plus one?

If your invite did not specify an additional guest (“& Plus One) or your +1’s name, please do reach out to us first and we will make exceptions on a case by case basis.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Please arrive at 4:00pm as the ceremony will start promptly at 4:30pm. Cocktail hour and dinner reception will follow after.

Is there a hotel block?

Yes! We have hotel blocks. See the Accommodations section above.

Where should I park?

There will be plenty of free parking on-site and also wheelchair accessible access.

Is there a gift registry?

We do not have a gift registry as we are fortunate enough to have everything we need. Your presence at our wedding is the most important to us, but if you'd like, you can contribute any amount you’d like in the form of checks or cash.

What is the dress code/attire?

Please come in formal or cocktail attire. The Club at Ruby Hill has a strict dress code. Athletic wear, t-shirts, or jeans are not allowed.

Are kids welcome?

Yes! Please make sure the full names of each guest in your party are listed on the RSVP form to ensure they are included in the seating arrangements.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, pets will not be allowed at the wedding.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please specify any dietary restrictions in the invite RSVP form, the venue is able to accommodate dietary needs for your meal.
